Why we exist:
The people at Millom Network Centre believe in raising community aspirations, developing positive self-images and providing educational guideposts for adults to move onto successful educational, employment and training paths. MNC also serve as a centre for information and support for entrepreneurs, and businesses at any growth stage, from start up to expansion. We do this because our charitable mission is to support sustainable regeneration of the local area through the provision of life long learning opportunities and the development of a local enterprise culture.
How we help people:
By working with adults who may lack the confidence needed to progress to where they want to be, financially, educationally, or personally. We work with people who might feel isolated, by providing courses that develop skills and interests while also offering a social environment and companionship. Many of our courses are the first step to getting back into learning or gaining qualifications. Some are
just plain fun.
How we help our area:
By providing our area with very affordable office units, meeting rooms, and other professional facilities needed to conduct business; but beyond this, we offer support, free business advice and contacts for funding. There are opportunities for networking and business building functions that can be of immense help to those trying to get started or needing to work up a business plan. We have been an entry level business environment to several companies that went on to great success, and continue to provide a good milieu for other charities that also give back to the community.
